1. Introduction
Responsible handling of personal data is very important to Laser-Laboratorium Göttingen e.V. We process personal data collected during visits to our website in keeping with applicable data protection provisions.

The legal data protection bases can be found in the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), the Telemedia Act (TMG) and in the EU’s General Data Protection Regulations 2016/679 from 27/04/2016, in force since 25/05/2018.

We will neither publish nor unduly forward your data to third parties. In the following, we will explain which data are collected during your visit on our web pages and how exactly they are used.

2. Types of collected data; types of data storage
2.1 Server log file (opening the website)
If you visit our website, our servers temporarily store every access to our website. Your browser automatically transmits the data; we do not explicitly request them.

The following data may be collected in the process:

1. IP address of the querying computer
2. date and time of access
3. name and URL of the obtained file
4. transmitted data volume
5. notification, if access was successful
6. recognition data of the browser and operating system used
7. website (URL) used for access
8. name of your Internet service provider

The system needs to temporarily store the data to be able to connect to our website. The stored data are also used for system security, technical network administration and to optimise our Internet offering. IP addresses are only analysed in case our network infrastructure has been attacked.

These data are not stored together with other personal data. Your data are deleted as soon as they are no longer needed to fulfil their purpose. This is the case when your session has ended.

The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 Para. 1 Sent. 1 lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest results from the data collection purposes listed above. Under no circumstances will we collect data for the purpose of drawing conclusions about you as a person.

2.2 Contacting by the user
When you contact us by e-mail, we will store your transmitted personal data to process your request / contacting and in case subsequent questions arise. Your data are exclusively used for immediate correspondence with you and are not forwarded to third parties.

2.3 Cookies and analysis tools
Our website uses no cookies or analysis tools (Google Analytics, Matomo, etc.).

3. Using and forwarding collected data to third parties
Your personal data are only used for the purposes mentioned and to the extent required to fulfil that purpose.

Your personal data are only transmitted to government institutions and authorities only if legally required and/or to aid criminal proceedings due to attacks on our network infrastructure. Your data are not forwarded to third parties for any other reasons.

4. Links to third-party websites
Our web pages may contain links to third-party websites. We would like to point out that this privacy statement exclusively applies to the website of Laser-Laboratorium Göttingen e.V. We cannot influence the compliance of third parties with applicable data protection provisions.

5. Right to information, revocation, objection, rectification, amendment, deletion and limitation of processing
You have various rights with regard to your data:

According to Art. 15 GDPR, you have the right to request information about your personal data processed by us.

According to Art. 16 GDPR, you also have the right to request the prompt correction or completion of your personal data incorrectly or incompletely stored by us; you also have the right to request the deletion of your personal data stored by us, unless processing is required (i) to exercise the right to freedom of expression and information; (ii) to fulfil a legal obligation; (iii) for reasons of public interest; (iv) to assert, exercise or defend legal claims; or (v) for other reasons. Your right to deletion is based on Art. 17 GDPR. In that regard, you may also have the right to limit the processing of your personal data according to Art. 18 GDPR. This applies in particular if you have objected to data processing according to Art. 21 GDPR. According to Art. 20 GDPR, you have a right to retrieve your personal data, which you provided to us, in a structured, common and machine-readable format, or to request that the data have to be transmitted to another responsible person. If you have given us your consent to data collection you can revoke it at any time according to Art 7 Para. 3 GDPR.

Ultimately, you have a right of appeal according to Art. 77 GDPR at the competent supervisory authority.
