UV femtosecond amplifier PowerLine

Many applications, such as e.g. industrial scale materials processing, require a high average power of the applied laser sources. This can only be achieved by running the system at high pulse repetition rates. To this aim, a novel KrF amplifier “PowerLine” was developed. Based on an industrial laser “NovaLine” of Coherent Lambda Physik, the new device can amplify ultrashort UV pulses of < 1 ps duration with repetition rates up to 350 Hz. At the same time the output pulse energy of the PowerLine reaches 30 mJ, thus delivering an average power of ~10 W.

Wavelength 248 nm
Energy per pulse 40 mJ (for > 50 µJ seed pulse energy @ 248 nm)
Repetition rate 0 - 350 Hz
Average power > 9W
Jitter ± 22 ns (relative to trigger pulse)
Beam size 25 x 25 mm
Beam quality 2 x diffraction limited (for M^2 = 1 at the input)
