Feasibility studies for surface nanostructuring of technical materials

One of the major functions of our department is to act as a service provider in the field of nanostructuring. We perform feasibility studies for the fabrication of periodic nanostructures on all types of materials including metals, semi­conductors, dielectrics etc. A great variety of possible textures is offered with typical structural periods well below 1 µm. This noncontact technique allows the supplementary surface processing of already finished components. Possible application areas of this technology include micro-lasers, nano-switches, microfluidic components, optical antifraud features, reflection reduction, tribological applications etc.
