Optical measurement procedures become more important in many fields of process control and process optimization. Applications can be found in most parts of a products fabrication, from process development over the receiving inspection test up to the control of the final product. In the future, the production processes will be increasingly equipped with optical sensor technology in order to enable an online- and inline-control during the production process. A real-time control of these processes is possible; this reduces the rejections and the emerging additional costs. costs.

Specific optical sensor concepts are necessary for these measurement tasks, which are able to detect the relevant material properties and process parameters even under industrial process conditions. In cooperation with our industrial partners, the LLG department “Photonic Sensor Technology” develops and optimizes such sensor concepts for special applications.
