UV- Laserfluorimeter

The mobile UV laser fluorimeter "Fluovision" deploys a diode-pumped UV-short-pulse-laser at 266 nm emission as excitation source and a time-sequential, live-time resolving detection unit. The fluorescence emission which is collected with a fiber optical probe is separated with a polychromator and the resulting spectrum is then detected with a temporal delay to the excitation pulse by the use of an ICCD camera. From the single spectrum, at certain detection times the spectrometer software "PAKMAN" constructs 2D-emission-decay-spectra.

The system can detect polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), monoaromates (BTXE), mineral oil products, humic substances, proteins and aromatic aminoacides (Tyrosine, Tryptophan), partly down in the sub-ppb concentration range.

Due to the special geometry of the optrode and the robust setup stray-light minimized detection in water (solutions), on soil and on surfaces is possible.

Furthermore the laser fluorimeter was applied successfully for process control of DOC in water treatment and for tracer analytics in hydrological research.
